Chelsea held by Rosenborg

A round-up of Tuesday's Champions League matches involving Barclays Premier League teams.

Chelsea have work to do in Champions League Group B after drawing 1-1 with outsiders Rosenborg at Stamford Bridge. Miika Koppinen turned in Marek Sapara's free-kick at the near post in the 24th minute to give the Norwegians a shock lead. Andriy Shevchenko headed the Blues level eight minutes after half-time but Chelsea could not force a winner.

Liverpool will be happier with their 1-1 draw with Portuguese club Porto in Group A. Lucho Gonzalez gave the home side an eighth minute lead from the penalty spot after Jose Reina had brought down Tarik Sektioui in the area. However, despite a lacklustre first-half display, Dirk Kuyt equalised for the Reds on 17 minutes when he headed home from close range after defender Sami Hyypia had nodded Steve Finnan's free-kick back across the area. Jermaine Pennant was sent-off for a second bookable offence after half-time but the Reds held on for a point
